New Work: Budgens and Londis Wines

Musgrave_Red_Wines-lo.jpg

In the latest release of work for Musgrave Retail Partners GB own brand ranges Harry Pearce and his team have designed the labels for Budgens and Londis wines.

The team have strived to create a unique visual language for this own brand wine range, self-confident and not aping any other brand. Each country of origin is identified with an individual style using a paired down elegant approach, and a simple colour palette.

The French range has its own particular typographic style using single large letterforms from traditional typefaces to denote the wine type; an F for Fitou and C for Claret. The large individual fonts create a unifying device across the group whilst simultaneously allowing individual character. The group of French wines make a very bold statement in store.

The Italian wine uses black and white photography with a strong accent colour of either red for the red wine or gold for the white. The images are of traditional Italian icons each highlighted with an accent colour adding a touch of wit; the red lips in a detail of a neoclassical statue of a woman from Piazza del Popolo in Rome.

The French and Italian ranges are being released over the next few months with South African and Australian still to come.
