New Work: M&T Bank Central Branch, Brooklyn
The latest of Lorenzo Apicella’s new branch buildings for M&T Bank has recently opened in East New York, Brooklyn.
Using the by now familiar language of all M&T’s new branches, this 4,500 sq ft building has been configured to work within a prominent urban setting on the corner of Atlantic Avenue and New Jersey Avenue.
At an opening event last month, local dignitaries and representatives of the Brooklyn community joined M&T Chairman Robert Wilmers to celebrate M&T’s investment and renewed commitment to the neighborhood.
Like M&T’s other new branches, the new branch is constructed to Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) standards as established by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED is a rating system distinguishing high-performance buildings with less impact on the environment.
The local architect of record is William F. Collins Architects.
