Awards: CASE 2012 Circle of Excellence Awards

Design for schools, colleges and universities is one of our specialties, and we’re pleased to announce that several of our projects in this area have been honored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in its 2012 Circle of Excellence Awards. CASE is a professional association serving educational institutions and their departments in alumni relations, communications, development and marketing.

DJ Stout and his team at Pentagram Austin received several awards in the Excellence in Design section of the competition for their work for Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. The design of LMU Magazine received a Gold in the Periodicals category, and the magazine’s “Space Invader” cover, seen above, took a bronze in the Covers category. A yearbook designed by Stout and his team for LMU’s Centennial received a Gold in the Multi-Page Publications category.

Denison Magazine, the magazine of Denison University in Granville, Ohio, won a Gold in the Periodicals category; the magazine’s format was designed by Stout in 2005 and is currently overseen by Pentagram alum Erin Mayes. The design of Dornsife Life, the magazine of USC Dornsife College in Los Angeles, also received a Bronze in the Periodicals category.

The University of Chicago Magazine, recently redesigned by Luke Hayman, received the competition’s prestigious Robert Sibley Magazine of the Year Award, the highest commendation in university magazines.

Thanks to all our designers, clients and teams for their fantastic work!
