New Work: Logotype
Published by Laurence King and edited by Michael Evamy, Logotype is a new book that showcases over 1,300 type-based logos.
Angus Hyland, who is the consultant Creative Director to Laurence King, has designed the cover for Logotype, using custom drawn letters, making a logotype for the book itself.
This is the third book in a loosely related reference series that explores individual elements of graphic identities. The first book Logo, separates the visual forms of identities into categories. Symbol, the second book, edited by Angus Hyland and Steven Bateman, classifies symbols by groups and sub-groups according to their visual characteristics. Lastly, Logotype looks at monograms and text-based corporate marks from 250 different design studios.
Project team: Angus Hyland, partner-in-charge and designer; Kyuhyung Cho, type designer.
